Lisa has been a valued member of the firm since it began a decade ago. She is a graduate of Central Piedmont Community College's Architectural Technology Program. Lisa guides the Commercial Team with a focus on medical, office, retail and restaurant projects. Lisa applies her considerable management skills to provide excellent service, even on a tight schedule. As an extension of her focus on service, Lisa also directs the Urban Concierge Program, our special way of rewarding clients. Lisa in 2009 earned the LEED accreditation for Commercial Interiors.
Jonathan graduated from Phillip O. Berry's Academy of Technology where he studied in the Architecture/Construction/Engineering program. He attends Central Piedmont Community College studying Architectural Technology. Jonathan is a multi-talented, detail-oriented drafter working on a diverse range of projects each week, from maintaining the firm's archives to assisting on advanced commercial designs.
Jennifer leads the Multi-Family team and manages some of the firm's larger projects. She earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has a wide range of multi-family design and construction administration experience. Jennifer has a passion for sustainable building design and leads Urban in its 'Green' endeavors.
John has practiced Architecture for over twenty years and is currently licensed in fourteen states. John's early career set a broad-based foundation of commercial and residential expertise gained in firms both large and small. Upon this experience he has built a successful growing firm. He is a second term Commissioner for the Town of Matthews NC and a member of the Board of Directors for the Matthews Historical Foundation, the Matthews Health Clinic and a Board member for the Matthews Economic Development Board.
In 2009 John earned the LEED accreditation for New Construction and Major Renovation.
John is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Masters of Science in Architecture, a Bachelor of Architecture, and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a minor in Geography/Urban Planning.
He is a recipient of the AIA Henry Adams Medal & Certificate of Merit Award; AIA North Carolina Chapter Architectural Book Award; Norman Pease Jr., AIA Honor Fellowship; National Collegiate Architecture & Design Award; The International Tile & Stone Exposition Spectrum International Ceramic Tile Design-Special Recognition Award; 2000 Prism International Natural Stone Design-Special Recognition Award.
John has architectural registrations in Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, USVI and Virginia.
He is a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor, able to bring a stronger voice in representing the client during construction administration.
John is a member of the American Institute of Architects AIA, North Carolina Chapter AIA and Charlotte Section AIA and the Southern Building Code and Congress International (SBCCI).
